Problem Statement
The theme "Anti-Algorithm" is a reminder of how much of our lives are shaped by recommendations, personalization, and data-driven "optimization."
We asked: What if we gave up control? What if we let surprise, randomness, and human touch back in? How might we create meaningful, joyful experiences that reject personalization and prediction, and instead embrace randomness, human spontaneity, and the thrill of the unknown?
Product Description
You sign up with no plan. Just share your basic preferences, like dietary needs and hard no’s. That’s it.
We design your day, not an algorithm. A rotating crew of humans (not bots) craft a one-of-a-kind experience just for you.
You show up with no clue. No previews, no ratings, no itinerary. Just trust the journey and go with the flow.
You come back surprised (and kinda proud). Maybe you danced. Maybe you pet a goat. Who knows? You lived a day you’d never have planned yourself.
Personas and Scenarios
Meet Jamal and Lina, two individuals craving more spontaneity and meaning in modern life, each in their own way.
Jamal longs to slow down and savor life’s simple pleasures. He values authentic, soulful moments and gentle surprises that spark joy or reflection. While he craves connection, he finds planning social activities tiring and feels that many apps over-curate, limiting real discovery.
Lina thrives on novelty and recharges through unplanned walks, journaling, or spontaneous hangouts. She dislikes rigid plans but often feels overwhelmed by choice and pressured by algorithm-driven platforms. She misses the creative freedom and surprise of pre-pandemic travel.

This project was created as part of CONVERGE’25, a Designathon hosted by FLUX (Figma Learning for User Experience), SOCHI (Student Organization for Computer-Human Interaction), and SIMA (School of Information Masters Associations) at the University of Michigan. Huge shoutout to the most wonderful teammates : Dhanush Ravi, Ayana Leelasena, Deeksha Kini, and Amulya Vijaywargiya.
